By September 25th, the Anhui East Power Transmission Ultra High Voltage AC Demonstration Project will celebrate its 6th anniversary of safe operation. Over the past six years, the project has experienced harsh weather conditions such as thunderstorms, high temperatures, and severe cold, as well as various operational and weak operation modes. The equipment integrity rate has reached 100%, and a total of 313.141 billion kilowatt hours of electricity has been stably transmitted to Zhejiang, achieving good economic and social benefits.
The Anhui East Power Transmission Ultra High Voltage AC Demonstration Project is the first 1000 kV tower double circuit project independently designed, developed, and manufactured by China. It is also an important component of the "Sanhua" ultra-high voltage synchronous power grid main grid frame of the State Grid Corporation of China, and serves as a bridge connecting the coal power bases of the two Huai regions (Huainan and Huaibei) with the East China Power Load Center.
Through this ultra-high voltage project, clean energy such as wind power, hydropower, and solar energy from the northwest can be continuously sent to Zhejiang, which not only meets the local energy consumption but also solves the problem of emissions.
As of now, the cumulative electricity transmitted by Zhejiang's ultra-high voltage power grid is equivalent to planting 53.27 million trees, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 311 million tons, and saving 12651 tons of standard coal, enabling the realization of "coal from the air, electricity from afar" and making Zhejiang's sky bluer and water clearer.
