Zhejiang UHV has delivered 313.141 billion KWH in six years of operation

May-25, 2023

September 25 marks the sixth anniversary of safe operation of the Anhui Power East UHV AC Demonstration Project. In the past 6 years, the project has experienced severe weather such as thunderstorms, high temperature and cold, as well as various tests of operation and weak operation modes. The equipment completeness rate has reached 100%, and the cumulative stable transmission of 313.141 billion kilowatt hours of electricity to Zhejiang has achieved good economic and social benefits.

Anhui East Transmission UHV AC demonstration project is the first 1000 kV same tower double cycle project designed, developed, and manufactured by our country completely independently. It is also an important part of the main network frame of “Sanhua” UHV synchronous grid, which is the bridge connecting the Huaihuai (Huai Nan, Huai Bei) coal power base and East China power load center.

Through this ultra-high voltage project, clean energy such as wind power, hydropower and solar energy from northwest China can be continuously sent to Zhejiang, which not only satisfies local energy consumption, but also solves the problem of emission.

Up to now, the cumulative power transmission of Zhejiang UHV power grid is equivalent to planting 53.27 million trees, reducing carbon dioxide by 311 million tons, saving 12,651 tons of standard coal, so that “coal from the air, electricity from afar” can be realized, so that the sky is bluer and the water is clearer in Zhejiang.
