Discussion on the difference between national standard cable and non-standard cable

May-25, 2023

Cable wire generally in the use of engineering users and construction projects, there are mainly three kinds of cable:
1. National standard cable: The cable produced according to the relevant cable standard technology issued by the state is referred to as the international line.
2, line label cable: according to industry standards, there are mainly fewer corners, but does not affect the use of performance.
3, non-standard cable: to meet the market demand should be pregnant products. Nowadays, wires and cables are used more and more widely, and with them, more and more kinds of wires and cables are sold on the market.

So, how to distinguish the “national standard” and “non-standard” of wire and cable?
It is recommended that you take a look, two try, three weigh, four price, five see copper, six quality detection, six tips.
A look: to see whether the wire and cable products have a quality system certificate, to see whether the certificate is standardized, to see whether there is a factory name, site, inspection seal, production date, to see whether the wire is printed with trademarks, specifications, voltage, etc. Also look at the cross section of wire copper core, excellent copper color bright, soft color, otherwise it is defective.
Second test: It is advisable to bend a wire head repeatedly by hand. Those with soft feel, good fatigue strength, large elasticity of plastic or rubber feel and no cracks on the wire insulator are excellent products.
Three weight: good quality wire and cable, generally every 100m weight in the prescribed weight range. For example, if the cross-sectional area of plastic insulated single-strand copper core cable is 1.5mm2, the weight per 100m is 1.8-1.9kg. 2.5mm2 plastic insulated single strand copper core wire, weighing 3-3.1kg per 100m; 4.0-mm2 plastic insulated single-strand copper core wire, weighing 4.4-4.6kg per 100m. Poor quality wire is underweight, either not long enough, or the wire has too much copper core impurities. If it is a cable, especially a large cable, the method of weighing the weight is a simple way to reflect whether the copper content of the cable reaches the standard and whether the conductor section is sufficient. Generally, there are cables with small sections made of stolen copper. If the copper content of the cable fails to reach the allowable weight range of national regulations after weighing, it can be basically identified as non-standard.
Four price: Because of the low production cost of fake and shoddy wire, so, vendors in sales, often under the guise of cheap and fine sales at a low price, people fooled. Therefore, when buying, be careful not to be deceived by the brand of “good price”. Five see copper. Qualified copper wire copper core should be purple, glossy, soft.
Five look at the quality of copper: shoddy copper core wire copper core is purple black, yellow or white, impurities, poor mechanical strength, toughness is not good, a little force will be broken, and the wire often broken phenomenon. When checking, you just peel off one end of the wire, and then rub a piece of white paper on the copper core. If there is black material on the white paper, the impurities in the copper core are more, which can be identified as “non-standard” wire and cable.
Quality testing: In case of differences in cable quality, it can be sent to a third-party testing institution for testing. Based on whether the authoritative test report is qualified.
